When I first heard that Squamish, BC based Howe Sound Brewing was going to be opening a tasting room in Vancouver in the old Chambar space on Beatty St after they moved a couple doors down, I knew we were in for something good! What I didn’t know, was that along with 15 taps of Howe Sound’s great beers, Devil’s Elbow Ale & Smoke House would also be offering a killer menu of smokey awesomeness. Postmark Brewing: Citra and Simcoe Dry-hopped IPA with Belgard Kitchen’s Porchetta Sandwich
Postmark Brewing is another newcomer that opened only a few months ago in The Settlement Building in Vancouver’s Railtown neighbourhood. Sharing the space with Postmark is Belgard Kitchen offering a well-crafted dinner menu and a weekend brunch menu along with a daily fresh sheet each weekday for lunch that includes a series of rotating daily sandwich features. Head there for one of those features, their Porchetta sandwich paired with Postmark’s IPA dry-hopped with Citra and Simcoe hops.
Main Street Brewing Company: Pulled Pork Sandwich with Sessional IPA
Main Street Brewing finally opened their doors in June this year and has come on to the Vancouver craft beer scene strong. Most days they offer 4 different draft beers as well as 4 beers on cask, with all draft being available in growlers too. They also have a nice selection of bar snacks and a small food menu including some charcuterie, various dips and daily meat and veggie sandwich options. Head there for their Pulled Pork Sandwich paired with the Main Street Sessional IPA.
Bunk Sandwiches: Pork Belly Cubano with Double Mountain Kolsch
A few years ago I discovered Bunk Sandwiches in Portland and it changed my life. Now I know that might sound a bit intense, but in a way it kind of did. My experience there really kick-started my decision to start this very blog and start doing my part spreading the word about the very best sandwiches (and craft beer) around. I can honestly say that since that decision was made, I have met some of the best people, had some of the best times in my life and got to do some of the coolest things too!

As I mentioned in yesterdays post, I am heading down to Portland in a couple weeks (2 weeks today!) for FEAST Portland. Now as excited as I am to eat all the amazing food created by some of North America’s best chefs, there will also be a pretty impressive line up of breweries from all over Oregon in attendance as well.
